Georgian Mahogany Hexagonal Wine Cooler

This is a late 18th century (c.1780) Georgian mahogany hexagonal wine cooler/cellarette. The cooler stands on a separate base section, consisting of three moulded legs which are decorated with c scroll brackets. The legs retain their original brass and leather wheeled castors (the castor wheels are constructed from leather washers, so as not to mark a polished floor). The cooler section is of hexagonal form and retains its original brass strapping and lifting handles. The lid opens to reveal the original lead lined partitioned interior, with spaces for several bottles. The lid is fitted with a working lock and key. The wine cooler is in excellent condition throughout with only one small old repair to the rear edge of the top
