Description
Early 19th century cream jug in the Low Oval Porcelain shape attributed to Miles Mason. Decorated with a frieze of stylised flowers and foliage in black and white on an orange ground. Black border around the edge of the handle, below the floral frieze and a black painted acanthus leaf up the back of the handle. Gilded band above the frieze and gilded rim. Unmarked but matches a teapot that I believe is by Miles Mason. The pattern interestingly appears very similar in design to the Spode patterns 878/893.
