This is a good Victorian sampler, by Jane Kay, dated 1897, worked with with a beautiful fruiting tree design central to the work. This is surmounted by two birds, and surrounded by flowers, urns, lamb, and religious verse detailed 'That awful day will surely come. The appointed hour makes haste. When I must stand before my judge. And pass the solemn test. Though lovely chief of all my joys. Thou sovereign of my heart. Now could I bear to hear thy voice pronounce the sound, ''Depart.', within a strawberry vine border. This is in excellent condition overall for its age with no wear or losses. It is in its original simulated rosewood frame which is in good order with one or two marks here and there commensurate with its age.
