Description
This is a gorgeous hallmarked silver sifter spoon, dating from the 18th Century. This handsome example is in Old English pattern and has engraved script initials 'Rmc' to the top front. The bowl is beautifully pierced with foliate and geometric patterns. The hallmark is interesting to collectors, as it was only struck in the last six months before the incise duty mark was introduced - 29th May 1784 - 30th November 1784.
A lovely and interesting piece with a practical use.
