Description
we have for sale a very striking and rather unusual Henry Loveridge of Wolverhampton art nouveau kettle on a copper and brass stand with a burner dating to 1903.
This eye catching bell shaped copper kettle is beautifully decorated with an embossed art nouveau design on each side. The lid of the kettle is finished with a peter finial marked Pat. 176270. The kettle comes with its original copper and brass stand, consisting of a hinged lifting upper stand plate supported on three cabriole brass legs extending down to a copper base plate marked with the Henry Loveridge mark and Provincial Patent which to its centre holds the copper and brass burner again marked with the Henry Loveridge mark and the Registered Design No. 412398 dating to 1903. All of the component parts of this Kettle and stand are fully marked with the Henry Loveridge mark.
The kettle and stand together are around 12.5 inches (31.75cm) high and 8.25 inches (21cm) in diameter. The Kettle and stand are in a very good to excellent condition although there are one or two little indentations as one would expect with a 120 year old piece of well cared for antique copper ware.
