A late Victorian period inlaid rosewood bonheur du jour, or writing desk. Well constructed in solid rosewood with attractive rosewood veneers. The superstructure with a central mirror flanked by 2 banks of short drawers. The mirror is surmounted by a broken-arch pediment.
To the table there is a central writing bureau, with a lift up top fitted with a sumptuous green leather writing surface. Beneath is located a central bow-fronted drawer flanked by a further pair of drawers. All drawers fitted with their original ornate handles.
All standing on elegant tapering legs which are united by an under-tier and terminate in original brass and ceramic castors. Decorated with inlaid string throughout and further embellished with floral marquetry inlaid detailing.
Sympathetically refinished in our workshops and now offered for sale in excellent condition.
