IWC Stauffer S&Co Peerless Open Face Pocket Watch Swiss 1905 This is a silver IWC S&Co Stauffer Peerless open face pocket watch, made in Switzerland in 1905. Dial:- The white enamel dial has black Roman numerals with outer minute divisions. The dial has black hands and a subsidiary second’s dial at the six. Movement: The anchor lever peerless movement is in good working condition; however, we cannot guarantee accuracy for an antique pocket watch. The movement is signed: “S&Co, Swiss, Peerless” and numbered: 153386. Case:- The watch lies in a silver open face case with a smooth finish. The inner side of the case is stamped for silver 0.935 and numbered: 174397. The cuvette has a small dent. See book by Allen Shenton: “Pocket Watches” page 184, plate 42: Peerless, Stauffer & C° was made by International Watch C°. According to the book Swiss Timepiece Makers 1775-1975 by Kathleen H. Pritchard Shenton said that the Stauffer “S & C°” stamp and crown trademark on Peerless pocket watches is an ebauche by International Watch C°.
