A fine watercolour of a pebble beach at Bellochantruy, KIntyre, by Scottish artist, J Hamilton Maxwell.
Hamilton Maxwell lived and exhibited in Scotland. He painted full time from 1881 and specialised in landscapes and architectural subjects. He was a member of the Royal Scottish Watercolour Society and exhibited at least once at Royal Academy. He also travelled in Australia and India. Signed by the artist lower left and dated 1883.
