Description
A very nice 1912 first edition copy of Life in the West of Ireland in super condition, just the spine is a little flat at the top, otherwise I cannot fault this copy. with 8 bright colour plates tipped in, 32 B&W line drawings and 16 reproductions from paintings in black and white.
The black boards have gilt titles on the spine and front board and a gilt roundel depicting the round tower, ruined church and graveyard at Turlough co Mayo Ireland.
The front and rear end papers facing the boards are foxed as is often the case otherwise and almost fine copy. Jack has captured so many people and scenes of the West of Ireland in the early 20thc that belonged to a time long before and he has captured them so perfectly one could almost be there.
Book is very scarce in this original very good condition.
