I specialise in affordable original artworks - mainly traditional watercolours and oil paintings but I also have a range of contemporary artworks including limited edition lithographic prints. I also stock a limited selection of antiques and collectables, including treen, ceramics and glass. I have now opened a shop in Wallingford (OX100BU) between Reading and Oxford, but I also trade online. My website, www.artandstuffgallery.com has a gallery section with several mini-galleries where my items are displayed, including more contemporary items not shown on LoveAntiques.

Description
This is a lovely example of Kathleen Caddick's work - she has managed to convey all the romantic beauty and decay of this wonderful old palazzo in Venice, by her use of subtle variations of colour - note the yellows and pinks - which give the piece depth and vibrancy. Better known for her etchings of beechwoods in Berkshire, she nevertheless did a series of etchings of Venice. This one is larger than most and would make a tremendous impact on any room. Signed lower right, this is a limited edition etching, no. 182/250 and bears blindstamp lower right.
Born 1937 in Liverpool, Caddick spent her childhood in Buckinghamshire, where she is said to have been inspired by the beechwoods and distant views offered by the Chilterns. She studied at High Wycombe College of Art. Later she became a freelance designer and art teacher and then ran a graphics design studio. She started painting full time in 1968 and etching from 1976.
