Welcome to chapmanpugh modern antiques. We sell antiques from the 17th to the 21st centuries that look good in modern and contemporary settings. We are particularly interested in pieces created by influential designers, manufacturers and furniture makers. We choose examples which we think are stylish and are interested in their place in history. We especially like antiques with a story attached. We also love the fact that by buying an antique piece of furniture, pottery, glass etc to use again, we are preserving our natural resources and preventing the environmental burden of another item being produced. This is why antiques are so wonderfully sustainable. New items are added on a regular basis. We ship to Europe, the United States and the Rest of the World.

Description
Rare, prestige, Kean & Scott Regency style, book matched Mahogany circular extending to an oval dining table - this magnificent table was bought new, from Kean & Scott's exclusive furniture showroom in Solihull c.1970s. The table was commissioned by Kean & Scott and made by A.E Bradley Limited, fine English furniture makers. It is of superb quality and in excellent condition with the rare feature of a skirt running under the table top. This impressive book matched polished mahogany table top with delicate banding has been hand made and creates a stunning  piece of furniture. There is also a highly attractive deep reeded edge to the table top. It is one of the most impressive dining table tops we have ever seen. It is rare to have this beautifully designed pull out telescopic extending mechanism on this style of table which accepts two extra leaves. The table offers great flexibility, as it extends from a circular table to an oval table with two extra leaves, thus giving the owner many seating options, as it can be used as a circular table with no leaves, seating up to 4 people or seating up to 8 people by adding two extra leaves. The extending mechanism also uses six circular brass swivel locks that hold the leaves firmly in place with no gapping on the table top. The large single pedestal has a Mahogany gun barrel turned column with four Mahogany splay legs and cast brass claw toes.  The rare central large pedestal allows for great flexibility in terms of seating options as there are no table legs in the way! A stunning rare and unusual dining table to entertain family and friends. A set of  6 (4 plus 2) Hepplewhite Revival dining chairs including two carvers c.1900s were purchased for this table in the 1970s and are also available upon request. Please see photographs.  Designer and Retailer:- Kean & Scott, exclusive furniture designers, makers and retailers.
