Bevan Funnell, Reprodux, Burr Walnut Writing Table Circa 1970s

In General A prestige  Bevan Funnell 'Reprodux' Regency style veneered Burr Walnut writing table. This high quality piece of English furniture has a lovely  antique style tooled moss green leather writing surface with a gold decorative border of flowers and Scottish thistles, in three sections. There are spacious upper twin opening storage drawers with original and decorative brass swan handles. The side leaves can be raised to allow a larger table surface when required. Please note that one of the leaves is permanently raised as the swivel wood support has been screwed in place. This maybe because the support was not returning properly. Raised on very pretty scalloped decorative end supports with a lower joining stretcher which especially shows off the stunning Burr Walnut finish. A beautiful and useful addition to any period or contemporary interior. It has been thoroughly cleaned and polished and is ready for immediate use. Established in 1945, Bevan Funnell has grown into one of the UK's most successful manufacturers of hand finished fine English furniture known as the 'Reprodux' collection. in 1967 and 1970, Bevan Funnell became the first furniture manufacturer to win the Queen's Award for Industry now the Queen's Award for Enterprise - and they won it twice! Condition In excellent condition with no chips, cracks or restoration.  There are some small marks on the tooled leather and some sun damage to the edge of the table top and an area on one side where the table hinges to drop down.
