Large Antique Black Chest of Drawers with Wooden Top

This is a handsome large antique chest of drawers which dates to the Victorian era. Made of mahogany, with pine lined drawers, it is a useful piece which has a distinctive look. The chest is fairly tall, and the front is fitted with six spacious drawers which are finished with decorative brass drop handles set on oval backplates. The drawers run adequately well and the interiors are in clean condition with some repairs here and there. I have hand painted the main body of the chest in my own mix of water based black paint before lightly distressing the finish. The paintwork is solid colour and has been waxed for protection, the finish is smooth and fairly matt. The top of the chest has been left how we found it, with a lovely natural waxed wood finish.
