This is a large antique log basket. An English brass decorative fireside store with Continental taste, dating to the Regency period, circa 1820.
Superb country house proportion with a wonderful decorative nature. Displays a desirable aged patina, in good original order throughout. Substantial brass form presents appealing golden hues. Suitable for all fuel types, from logs to coal, with a pleasingly clean interior.
Continental taste to the decorative relief adorning the front and rear. Figural scene to the fore, whilst the rear is accentuated with a bountiful fruit basket. Striking Green man masks with loop handles to each side. Standing upon a trio of paw feet with detail to knees.
