Clockwise is delighted to welcome into its collection this extremely fine 14 inch dial English eight day fusee timepiece. This fully restored clock has a larger 14 inch painted dial signed 'Bullivant & Co Ltd, Millwall' and has a lovely aged hue to the dial which is in excellent condition. Original blued steel spade hands compliment the appearance and this is all contained within a brass bezel with working tab/catch. The oak case is again in excellent condition and being of standard back box design with the main body being pegged to the box. There is a lower and side door to the case. The chain-driven fusee movement has just been serviced and as such benefits from my three year guarantee.
Bullivant & Co of Millwall, London were steel and iron wire rope makers in the late 19th and 20th century. They were used in aerial ropeway cables for industries such as maritime, mining and shipyards. This is likely to be an office or shop floor clock they used and dates from circa 1915. This is a lovely and classical piece of horology and will surely grace any environment it is located within.
Clockwise specialises in longcase and bracket clocks and with global clients from the world of business, film, sport, royalty and aristocracy - yet more than happy with traditional clients - Clockwise has an unrivalled reputation for excellence and superb service.
