This is a large pair of antique putti bookends. An Italian, fruitwood cherub figure as book rests, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.
Fascinating figural bookends, with large proportion and distinctive appearance, presenting a desirable aged patina and in good original order. Lightly time worn fruitwood skilfully crafted into these bold Putti figures. Each figure sat upon a stone stool, with an open book atop their legs. Dressed with protective leather pads to the base. Ideal for larger volumes - the books in the image measuring 39cm in height (15.25'').
This is a delightful pair of antique putti bookends, with a fascinating appearance and generous proportion. Delivered ready to display.
