Large Scottish Celtic Brooch by the Ward Brothers 1948

This lovely large vintage Scottish silver and two semi precious stone brooch is by Glasgow makers, Ward Brothers, 1948. The large round brooch has two amber coloured semi precious stones, thistle decoration with leaves beneath. The brooch surround is engine turned, and the rear of the brooch has clear hallmarks and a fitted pin/catch. A super statement piece, would be great on a blazer or jumper. Width is 5 cm, overall weight is 0.7 oz of Scottish silver with stones. The Ward Brothers were very well known in post-2nd World War times for the manufacture of silver brooches of this style. A super piece of engineering.
