Super Large Silver Vesta Case, by the Rolason Brothers

Super large vesta case, 1898 hallmarked Birmingham, with the manufacturers being Rolason Brothers. The case has a vacant cartouche front and back, suitable for engraving. The overall condition of the case is excellent considering it is approaching 127 years old! Feels good to the touch and would appear to have hardly been used in all those years. This Victorian period superb heavy silver vesta case comes by way of makers Rolason Brothers of Birmingham and is dated 1898, in very good condition no issues. Presented with an all over attractive repousse design and with empty cartouche areas to front and back case, good o ring to the lid top, the inner chambers are clean with a light gilt wash, tight fitting lid with very good snap, hallmarks in the usual place. Measurements are approx. 5.3 cm in height and 4 cm in width, weighing a very good 30 gm of silver. Superb and attractive vesta from this very good maker! Vestas like these do not come on the market often. This is a collectors piece from an estate sale, obviously cared for.
