Description
Luxurious ebony chest of drawers, with rounded shapes and a mirror in the Boulle style. Richly decorated with mascarons, belts, vignettes and gilded bronze currencies. The central panel and architrave are decorated with gilded brass ornamentation on a picturesque tortoiseshell background. In the centre of the oval shield is a dancing Indian woman with bare breasts.
Compositionally and stylistically close to the style of Louis XVI. France, 19th century.
