This is a beautiful hand blown Murano Mid 20th Century art glass aquarium block - paperweight or sculpture designed by Alfredo Barbini for Cenedese, Italy. It is a stunning piece showcasing incredible Murano glass hand blowing craftsmanship. This Murano glass aquarium shows an enchanting 3D underwater scene with a polychrome tropical fish swimming in amongst delightful sea grasses. The fish shimmers with gold foil decoration - all in a beautiful setting of sea grasses with the fish trailing bubbles - a special and complex technique that Murano used for these pieces. The fish suspended in glass looks as if it is swimming across the room!  For Millennia, Murano glass and the manufacturing of it, has been an integral to the Venetian islands in Italy.
