Naive Welsh Oak Table With Iron Strapwork

An oak & iron rustic vernacular Welsh side table. The very simple three planked top with a border oak trim has a very rudimental, naive design harkin back to a very simple rural peasant life in the 17th century. Probable cosied up around a fire in the hearth of a night. The tapered legs are held together with some old strapwork iron on each corner. You could imagine sitting round this table in a humble stone and timber built cottage in the hills scratching a living from the land, somewhat romantic but a harsh life to be honest. Wonderful original piece, untouched and what a wonderful story it tells. Therefore, you will see signs of ageing, natural wear, fading & marks which create their unique look. Overall the condition is good and the condition is commensurate with its age.
