New Hall Basket Weave Dessert Plate 1812-1820

Striking bone china dessert plate produced at the New Hall works during the period 1812-1820. Decorated with a moulded basket weave design around the rim with interconnecting raised gilt lines incorporating four groups of hand-painted flowers each contained within a simple gilt cartouche. The centre has a larger group of summer flowers again, hand-painted in bright enamel colours and with a border of dark blue enamel overlaid with fine gilding and further small groups of flowers. This piece is unmarked but has been designated the pattern number, U688. Provenance: The Pat Preller Collection.
