This handsome and unusually shaped wall clock has an eight day, double fusee movement with recoil escapement and strikes the hour on a gong. The 12" painted dial with makers name - Camerer Cuss & Co., 56 New Oxford Street, London... Camerer Cuss & Co were a partnership formed in 1788 by two astute German business men, Andrew Kammerer and David Cuss, who originally came to London to import and sell Black Forest clocks, the firm went on to open their Oxford Street shop in 1867.
In good working order, this fine quality clock needs to be seen to be fully appreciated.
