Description
Flemish oil on canvas from the early 1700s depicting the Adoration of the Baby Jesus with Shepherds and Women. In the work of generous dimensions and extraordinary workmanship, the sacred scene of the Nativity is magnificently depicted. This fascinating representation sees the presence of the Virgin Mary, Saint Joseph and the tender Baby Jesus, lovingly surrounded by shepherds and adoring women. A touch of authenticity is given by the affectionate presence of the ox and the donkey inside the stable; but the beauty of this work reaches its peak in the upper right corner, where three radiant angels gracefully depict the Holy Spirit.
