Original 19th Century photograph album consisting of 82 photographic prints, mostly large sizes & one per page that measure on average 10 x 7 inches or larger. 9 images are smaller with several to each page & measure approx 6 x 4 inches . Majority of images have some early hand written pencil notes below with a number of photo's that have the original caption stating locations & the photographer. Approx 42 images have no printed caption but many with a hand written note stating locations, events or people. Photographers included are giorgio sommer, alfredo noack & several with the intitials G.J. places covered are south of France, Palermo, Napoli, Pompei, Pisa, Genoa, Cadiz, Barcelona, Malta A number of interesting images with what appears to be an image of emperor wilhelm ii, several images of the crew & of the H.M.S. phaeton itself, an image of the construction of the corinth canal in Greece, 3 large images of a bull fight, the Santa Maria & another [replica from 1892 of a Christopher Columbus ship] plus groups of individuals, numerous scenes, buildings, monuments etc etc Album measures approx 11 x 15 inches An interesting one off item from the 19th century with over 80 images
