Otto Von Bismarck & Helmuth Von Moltke The Elder Plaques in Relief
Rare reliefs in copper of two of the most important Statesmen of Imperial Germany in the latter part of the 19th century, both having a diameter of 45 cm, both plaques are in excellent condition, been in my late Grandfather and Fathers collection for many many years, One depicting Otto, Prince of Bismarck, Count of Bismarck-Schönhausen, Duke of Lauenburg was a Prussian statesman and diplomat who oversaw the unification of Germany. Bismarck's Realpolitik and firm governance resulted in him being popularly known as the Iron Chancellor the second that of Helmuth Karl Bernhard Graf von Moltke 26 October 1800 – 24 April 1891) was a Prussian field marshal. The chief of staff of the Prussian Army for thirty years, he is regarded as the creator of a new, more modern method of directing armies in the field and one of the finest military minds of his generation.
