Pair of 19th Century Chinese Pottery Foo Dogs - Large Pair with Sancai Glaze

Pair of large late 19th century Chinese sancai glazed pottery dogs of foo in traditional colours of green, mustard and brown. The pair of figures stand on raised rectangular bases which represent a low table draped with cloth. The decorative foo dog figures standing above are well detailed. They are modelled with one resting its paw on a pierced ball and the other playing with an upturned puppy. The dogs have a fierce expression with bulging eyes. Their mouths are wide open showing their sharp teeth and tongues. These large decorative figures are generally in very good condition. They do display a few very small minor age related chips to the glaze.
