Pair of Antique Mahogany Neoclassical Open Bookcases
An outstanding pair of antique mahogany neoclassical open bookcases. They were made in England, and date from around the 1900-1920 period.
The quality is fantastic, they are extremely well made with gorgeous brass neoclassical pharaoh heads on the upper corners, grooved front edges and brass feet at the lower corners. The mahogany has gorgeous colour tones and grain patterns, they have cross banded tops and sit on plinth bases. The shelves are removable and adjustable, they are supported by slotting into grooves in the frames.
We have had them recently re-polished, they are in lovely condition for its age with a great overall patina. There is just some minor wear, there are a some minor marks remaining beneath the polish, with a few knocks and bumps along the front edges, seen in the images.
