Pair of Late Victorian Paintings of Rural Scenes by James Cchristie Prowett

Pair of late Victorian well-painted, decorative gilt-framed oil paintings, one signed J C Prowett. One depicts cattle in a landscape by a river the other, a cottage on the side of a hill. Both are finely painted and in excellent order with exceptional original gilt frames bearing (Mathison of Stirling) on the rear. (1870-1934). The two artists lived in the studio during the summer months and spent the winters in warmer climates.
