Description
Distinguished Pair of Armchairs by W. Williamson & Sons, Guildford
Each chair features a solid oak frame in a beautifully mellow honey tone, which pairs exquisitely with the newly upholstered rich black leather. The thick, high-quality leather lends both comfort and sophistication, accentuating the graceful lines of the chairs while offering durability for everyday use.
Upholstered backrests, arms, and seats—provide a luxurious seating experience. Each chair stands on elegant fluted front legs, fitted with brass casters, and plain rear sabre legs in keeping with the period style.
These chairs are ideal for use at a partners desk or as statement seating in a study, office, or library.
Beneath each chair is the maker’s stamp: W. Williamson & Sons, Guildford—a name associated with quality and prestige. William Williamson & Sons were esteemed cabinet makers and upholsterers based in Guildford, Surrey, operating between 1790 and 1840. Their work is known for its fine craftsmanship, often reflecting late George III and Regency stylistic influences. The firm was located at Black Horse Lane from 1790 to 1796, and later at Chapel Street from 1822 until 1840. Furniture bearing their mark is increasingly sought after by collectors and connoisseurs.
These armchairs are in excellent condition, professionally restored and newly upholstered, and are ready to be enjoyed in their next home.
