Pair of Regency Armchairs with Brass Inlay & Cane Seats

Eye catching pair of Regency armchairs... Just love the nice natural look and wonderful detail these chairs offer. The back has a pillow carved top rail and a pair lyre style carvings on a horizontal plane, connected with a square block and rebated to hold a charming brass foliate inlay. The bentwood arms are gracefully shaped and finished with bobbin shaped arm support, all formed out of one piece of timber. A flat ring turned detail is carved into the two front legs and front cross stretcher. What I like is the very natural finish to the timber, which has a charming warm tone. Married with the cane seat both chairs are delightful in everyway. Probably would have had a squab cushion on at some point for additional comfort, helping spread any weight on the cane. The cane is in good condition and no damaged., more than likely not the original cane, but has a nice age to the cane. This pair of chairs would look great either side of a wine table or placed in a bedroom setting. Selling as a pair only.
