A William Iv period mercury wheel barometer. A slim mahogany case of good proportions with a swan neck top pediment and original brass finial. Choice flame mahogany veneers and case edge banding. Silvered dials to the hygrometer, thermometer and level. A well engraved main dial. Signed to the level 'Pastorelli & Co 4 Cross St Hatton Garden London'. Circa 1835.
The Pastorelli family are recorded in Banfields 'Barometer Makers and Retailers' book as working from 1805-1845. They were also chronometer makers.
