Pelham Place Hasting Georgian Overlaid Amber Glass Vase c.1825

A beautiful piece of Georgian glass wear made to commemorate the opening of the Pelham Place Hastings in c1825. This wonderful fluted vase with its amber overlaid glass and etched decoration of Pelham Place, Hastings and garlands of grape foliage set against a rich amber coloured background. Sadly this historical glass sculpture as suffered damage over its almost 200 year life showing cracks to the body and base as shown in the photo's. However, this lovely piece of commemorative art glass stands testament to what was hailed to be one of the fist and magnificent shopping arcade in the Victorian era.
