Description
The watch has a nice quality 15 jewel Swiss stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed Bulla, a brand name registered by Emile Juillard who had a watch manufacturing factory in Porrentruy, Switzerland. He developed his own movement calibres and sold most of his watches under the name Bulla. After Emile’s death, the business was handed down to his son and then subsequently his grandson, with the factory finally closing down in 1973, possibly due to the rising popularity of quartz watches.
The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.
The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold plated and was made by the Illinois Watch Case Company. The case has engine turned detail to both the front and back of the watch, and it is still nice and crisp. A couple of shallow indentations to the back
The movement is later to the case although of approximately the same period.
The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover. Inside, there is an acrylic lens which is in nice condition.
The white enamel dial is in nice condition with handsome blued steel hands,
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
