The watch has a Swiss stem-winding movement, signed Buren, which is working nicely.
The movement is protected by an inner metal cover which carries the patent number 6577. This relates to an English patent dated 1905, granted to J F Kendal & F Goering. It is for the reinforced dust cap which attaches to a ring around the movement. It allows the case to have a thinner back cover that is given support by the inner dust cap.
The watch measures 49mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The outer case is silver and there are English hallmarks for London (import mark), 1919, with a sponsor’s mark for William Henry Sparrow. The case has some fairly light unevenness, nothing too detrimental.
The glass lens is in good condition.
The dial is in lovely condition. Special half hunter hour hand so that the time can be read when the front cover is closed.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.

All of our watches are checked over before listing, and are also checked for accuracy which is usually within around +/- two to three minutes over 24 hours (unless otherwise stated), which is considered respectable for a vintage watch.
