Pocket Watch Chain Vesta Case Fob Victorian Large Brass 1890s Chubb Padlock Fob

Original Victorian Gentleman's highly impressive large golden brass pocket watch chain Antique Chubb vesta case patented fob in the form of a padlock. C~1890s. Similar to the fobs I have supplied to Pinewood Studios. (Please excuse the reflections/dark shadows in the pictures - was very difficult to photograph). Measures; 6.3cm height (including the top ring), 3.4cm width, 1.3cm depth and weighs a very respectable 24.9 grams. Extremely unusual Victorian Chubb vesta case fob which is beautifully formed as a large padlock. Stamped to the front in raised script (similar to their safe plaque design); Chubb London Makers To The Queen (Queen Victoria) and is numbered; 1235526. The back is numbered to the bail with a patent registration number (again in raised script); Rd 241198. The lid springs open correctly when the side button is depressed (do the same to close) and the arched stricker to base is crisp and unworn. Bg robust brass top ring to attach to a Gentleman's pocket watch chain. Excellent clean and bright condition with no wear or damage and just an extremely tiny bit of overall patina and fine little surface scratches (all showing under eyeglass only) commensurate with age.
