Description
Gentleman's highly unusual large brass fancy link original Victorian (Arts & Crafts) pocket watch chain /Albert with original stamped swivel T bar and dog clip.
Similar to the pocket watch chain I have supplied to 'Peaky Blinders'.
Measures; 31.5cm / 12 1/2" total length and weighs a very respectable 25.6 grams.
Bright crisp circular shaped brass links which are interspersed with three open wire work lozenge links in between (each measures; 2.4cm length x 5mm diameter) - all have a lovely 'fluid' feel to them and reflect the light beautifully.
Each of the lozenge links holds a very unusual long threaded cylindrical link within and has highly polished box links around the outside which move up and down independently (very tactile).
One of the box links is clearly stamped (with an oval, recessed cartouche) with the makers initials; T*H - Thomas Hopwood, Birmingham, England.
Secure original big brass swivel dog clip to one end (operates correctly) which is again stamped within a recessed oval cartouche; T*H and is clearly stamped to the inside; Patent.
Original large brass swivel T bar to the other end (measures 4.1cm length) which is also stamped; T*H.
Also has a short length of circular link chain just below the T bar with original round link to end - so allowing the wearer to display a fob if desired.
Excellent clean and bright condition with just a tiny bit of very light overall wear/patina and little surface scratches (all showing under eyeglass only) commensurate with age.
Will arrive in a new presentation box as shown and be very securely and safely packed.
