Pocket Watch Swiss Avia 1960s 17 Jewel 12ct Gold Plated Case 16 Size Fwo

Vintage original Swiss 'Avia' high grade 17 jewel Gentleman's pocket watch with beautiful ivory dial in a highly polished 12 carat (tested) gold plated case. Full working order and has been fully checked and serviced by my highly experienced watchmaker, guaranteed to be 100% authentic - a timepiece to grace any collection. Excellent timekeeper with plenty of room on the regulator (which is sat correctly in the central position) for any further fine tuning. Dial:- Impressive and distinctive, high gloss ivory dial in very near mint condition - absolutely no hairlines, 'flea nibbles' or fading and just a few tiny black marks around the circumference where the bezel has rubbed over the years (not visible with the bezel fitted but mentioning for accuracy). Signed in black script; Avia 17 Jewels Incabloc and signed in black arched script to base of dial; Swiss Made. Bold black Arabic numbers (note the lovely little arrow tip to number 4) with black minute markers, black triangular shaped five minute markers and diamond shaped 15 minute markers to chapter ring. Large sub dial with black Arabic numbers and black seconds chapters. Finely cut, original black steel spade and whip hands and original black steel arrow tip seconds hand all in lovely straight, unmarked order. Original thick bevel edge crystal in amazing clear, bright condition with just a few light and fine little surface scratches commensurate with age. Case:- The highly polished (4.9cm diameter / 6.7cm from top of bow to base), 12 carat (tested) gold plated case is heavy (has a pleasing solid feel in the hand and total watch weight is 65.1 grams), robust and in super condition - absolutely no wear, just one small pin prick indentation to back of case (only visible if caught in the right light) and overall light and fine little surface scratches (again mainly to back) commensurate with age in her 60+ years service. All covers (both inside and out) still retain their original, high gloss, mirror finish. The front bezel and back cover snap on and off correctly, closing tightly with a very reassuring click. Clearly stamped to the inside of the back cover; Base Metal and is numbered; 16105. Also carries an old service mark which is neatly placed just inside the inner circumference. Movement:- The stem wound and set high grade Swiss 17 ruby jewelled, 3/4 plate lever (Unitas) movement is in superb bright and clean order and has just been fully checked and serviced by my long standing watch repairer. Clearly stamped on the top plates; 17 Jewels Swiss. Stamped to the bottom plate (side of the balance assembly): Ut - Unitas and numbered; 6497 Wn. Balance action is tremendous in all positions with a sure, strong positive action - runs like a train. Winds extremely smoothly and fully (do not be afraid to fully wind, over-winding is the greatest horological myth!) Hand set operates smoothly and correctly. Lovely large un-worn gold plated 'onion' crown. Good original firm, un-worn gold plated bow.
