Rare Charles Horner Empire Exhibition Silver & Enamel Ring
The British Empire Exhibition of 1924 was called "An imperial stocktaking and vast window of display." Quality goods were offered to illustrate the variety and standard of pieces produced throughout the Empire. Leading designers of the day exhibited and Charles Horner produced a number of silver and enamel pieces, indicative of his style and quality.
This lovely ring dates from that time and has an intertwined maker's monogram Ch and Sterling Silver (used by Horner between 1915-40). Beautifully designed in the Art Deco taste, it has a panel of blue and white enamels to imitate seed pearls. Set on a shaped silver background with pierced sides this superb piece is stylish and desirable.
