This fabulous half tester has lovely and curved, sweeping iron decoration in head and foot. Good detail in decorative castings featuring bows, acanthus and shell inspired castings. Original knobs and porcelain castors.
The tapered posts balance out the overall feel of the bed and lead up to a delightful canopy with supports, for adding curtains or drapery adding to the overall sentimental or saccharine feel of the bed.
The central motif has been decoupaged with a lovely lace inspired theme, mirroring the curves and flowing lines of the panels. Shellacked to protect.
Professionally restored to be sturdy and practical, the frame has been shot blasted, primed and hand painted with Little Greene’s Stock Deep, waxed to preserve.
The side rails have been strengthened and adapted to support wood slats or a bed base.
Price includes wood slats (Sorry not mattress).
As an alternative to the wood slats we can supply a 2” or 4” deep upholstered bed base – Bed photographed on 2” base.
We can also supply hand-made mattresses in all comfort choices. Please ask for details and prices or look at base and mattress section of our own web site.
