This telephone is a nice genuine telephone. The first thing to note is the colour is faded evenly all over. It looks a beautiful deep red in the pictures but although not this deep red is still a nice colour. It has a few small imperfections that have been photographed below and are listed at the bottom of this page. This telephone has been totally stripped down and rebuilt after each part has been cleaned and polished. The dial is a genuine GPO No12 with enamel face plate (slightly faded numbers). It is set up fully working to both dial out and receive perfectly. It has a nice reproduction braided cord and a GPO specification round plastic line in cord. The microphone is fabulous quality electronic model to bring the speech quality up to modern standards.
This would make a wonderful statement every day telephone. I can make a dial label with your information at no extra charge. The handset and base are marked 1955 and the base plate is also marked Chinese Red.
