a Very fine quality elegant and tastefull 19th Century Regency buffet sideboard in the grand tour Grecian-Roman styles, decorated with finely carved anthemions acanthus and scrolling vine leaves of typical forms, the serving top is fitted with three scroll caseing drawers, with a large carved green beige lined silver drawer fitted to the centre, flanked by a pair of column sided pedestal cupboards with raised sarcophagi panels, with an interior wine divisione cellarette drawer, terminating on large carved robust lion paw feet. George Smith is listed as a designer, cabinet maker and upholsterer. He published his own book at this period on furniture design.
