The whole raised on substantial, beautifully carved hairy-paw feet with inset castors. Constructed of heavy gauge rosewood veneers on quality mahogany carcass. Quality of construction, together with the design features are highly reminiscent of Gillows manufacture, although no mark is evident. Tilt action is strongly secured by original elaborate coupled, sprung double bolts with pull-rod and brass pull-knob. Original locating inset brass keeper plates in pedestal top. Tabletop secured by two substantial removable hinge bolts to facilitate dissembly. Original finish and gorgeous aged patina throughout.
