I specialise in affordable original artworks - mainly traditional watercolours and oil paintings but I also have a range of contemporary artworks including limited edition lithographic prints. I also stock a limited selection of antiques and collectables, including treen, ceramics and glass. I have now opened a shop in Wallingford (OX100BU) between Reading and Oxford, but I also trade online. My website, www.artandstuffgallery.com has a gallery section with several mini-galleries where my items are displayed, including more contemporary items not shown on LoveAntiques.

Description
Sunset in a lovely tranquil riverside location. Sadly, the location is not identified, but there is a very unusual spire to the left bank, so if someone recognises it, we'd love to hear from you!
Richard William Halfnight (1855-1925) was a well respected painter and etcher. Born in Sunderland, he moved to London in the 1880s where he exhibited at Royal Academy and New Watercolour Society (later called Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour) before moving back north to Newcastle. He painted in both oils and watercolour and did mostly landscapes and coastal scenes. Many of his paintings feature water- he was rather good at capturing its moods and reflections!
