Our business is based in the beautiful village of Debenham in Suffolk, England, which is close to Constable country. I take our pride in being the 4th generation in my family to be antique dealers who have been buying and selling antiques for over a century. With our expanding web presence in the UK, we also have a base in the USA with Debenham Antiques inc. Along with expanding our international web based business, we also quite unusually retain our high street presence, with a large retail shop which we use to display our finest goods, and to offer the client a more personal service for the those who like to discuss their needs.
Here at Debenham Antiques we try to cater for all styles and tastes, and we believe this is reflected in our stock as you can find anything from 15th century carvings to late 20th century fine quality furniture. We have experts in furniture and paintings who buy our goods with safe knowledge. We also offer a wide range of fine quality reproduction furniture which is all lovingly handcrafted by ourselves locally, using the best timbers.

All our buying, photography, restoration, polishing and shipping is carried out in house by our dedicated team of staff. Rococo 18th century yew and elm bureau desk circa 1750. Stunning swedish rococo period bombe shaped bureau. beautifully made from yew wood and elm, using various techniques such as parquetry, inlay and cross banding. Top surface and sides decorated in arranged veneers of yew, links to the slightly concave shaped fall. fall rests on pull out barers and gives a writing height of 31 inches, 78. 75cm. generous writing surface and greeted by an interior of fitted drawers, with document storage above. below the fall are 3 drawers which comply with the bombe shape. fitted with ornate ormolu handles and escutheon plates, original locks with key. drawer fronts are veneered in a contrasting burr to give its 2 tone appearance. Standing on splayed feet linked by a shaped frieze, further decorated with ormolu mounts. Original colour and patina. Recently fully restored in our workshop. expected surface marks from age. ready for everyday use.
