Description
Offered for sale is a Royal Doulton flambe vase in the woodcut design 1603. It has the Royal Doulton stamp to the base, woodcut 1603 and impressed 1603 on the base. It is decorated with a bucolic, woodcut, forest scene with a windmill in the distance. Royal Doulton is justifiably famous for the lustrous red glaze known as flambé. Inspired by Oriental glazes at the turn of the last century, Doulton's flambé made its debut at the St Louis exhibition of 1904 and was immediately acclaimed by connoisseurs of art pottery. For more than a century, Royal Doulton artists designed vases and figurative models decorated with the rouge flambé glaze and the production methods remained a closely guarded secret. Unless otherwise stated on item description Free delivery included to UK Mainland & Ni. Eu Delivery £20. USA & Worldwide Delivery £35.
