Description
This is a very finely carved 19th Century (c.1870) antique shell cameo of a Bacchante or Maenad in an 18ct gold (electronically tested) and white enamel archeological revival brooch mount. There is a ring to enable conversion to a pendant if desired. There are faint (too much so to photograph) initials, possibly 'lk', at lower right on the back of the shell.
