Description
Silver Mounted Claret Jug. London 1901. Silver mounted claret jug clearly hallmarked by The Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co. for London 1901. It has two engravings, one for the Donegal Artillery, Prince of Wales’s, the second one “Presented to The Officers Mess by M.H. Courtenay. RA. In memory of the happy time he spent as Adjutant. From 1894 -1901. The silver is a good gauge, as you would expect, the glass is very clean and clear, I cannot find any chips or dings. It has a capacity of 32 fl oz (900ml) to the double cut line on the shoulder. The jug stands 8 inches (20cm) tall to the top of the handle and the glass has a diameter of 5½ inches (14cm). This is a very smart jug in beautiful order and ready to use. Our ref 8859
