Description
This small Georgian (III) c.1810 mahogany bow chest has the brushing slide, that pulls out by using the decorative brass pulls. Brushing slides were originally for the gentlemen valet to brush his trousers before use, this is a charming look back into social history, imagine the valet preparing the Gentlemans cloths for the day ahead. The bow fronted chest has embossed brass handles with swing handles fitted to the 3 graduated drawers. It stands on the French splay feet, a most elegant look.
Antique chests of drawers of small size are rare and desirable. This lovely example can be used in many places around a modern home, in bedroom settings or in informal drawing room or downstairs settings.
On occasions customers have been disappointed to miss an item as they e-mailed their enquiry instead of phoning, I would recommend that if you wished to get the piece, please call rather than e-mail. We are very friendly and easy to deal with. This Small Georgian mahogany bow chest is a green product and has not affected the environment we live in.
We spend time choosing the best product, an antique item that must meet the strict criteria to be placed in Hingstons of Wilton stock.
