Sterling Silver & Crackle Glaze Enamelled Fairy Hand Mirror 1920

Offered for your consideration is this fine antique English hand mirror measuring 26cm in length with a maximum diameter of 14cm. This hand mirror is made of sterling silver marked with the lion passant for English sterling silver, the anchor assay mark for the city of Birmingham and the maker's mark Hcd for the prestigious silversmith Henry Clifford Davis. There is also a date letter but this is now too rubbed to read. Nonetheless, I estimate this hand mirror dates circa 1920. The front of the mirror is decorated with a crackle glaze eggshell finish and features a dainty fairy on a flowering branch. The verso has a framed glass mirror with bevelled edge which is perfectly clear and reflective. This fine English silver hand mirror is offered in very good condition with no flaws found.
